It started out like any other day in Jackson Square. A brass band played, tourists took pictures, and then, people began to come together.

Choreographer Kynt Brian of Flashmob New Orleans, had been working with Elise Indovina since she found him online and contacted him about a month before the event. They worked in secret – organizing, rehearsing and making sure it would be a performance to remember.

“It’s gonna be a really fun like Broadway spectacle type repetitive showgirl dance,” said Brian.

After weeks of practice, the day finally came. Dancers gathered outside St. Louis Cathedral, and Elise joined them, not too much to her soon-to-be-fiance, Tina’s, surprise. When Elise started to dance with the group, Tina didn’t really think much of it.

Tina said, “She’s crazy, so she will jump in and start dancing with random strangers she can make friends with anybody so I was thinking ‘this is normal’.”

That is, until she began to see her friends join in the dance, too. Friends and family came out of the woodwork, and Elise's kids joined in the choreography as well. Little did she know, Elise was carrying out a plan she had been working on for months. She had wanted to put something together that Tina would never forget.

“There’s so few chances in life to do something grand, so I knew I wanted to do something big for her,” said Elise.

Finally, the big moment – Elise got down on one knee and popped the question, leaving her fiancé shocked and surprised, but mostly, elated.

“I don’t even have words, I’m really happy and I didn’t think this day was gonna come for a long time,” said Tina.

After the performance, the couple spent time with friends and family, hugging, laughing, and celebrating their future.

As for their engagement day plans – an order of beignets was first on the list.
